silver gilt finger ring fragment with a D-shaped cross section. Inscribed on the inside are the letters AM. On the outside edge is embossed decoration consisting of a diamond and roundel linked by a band and interspersed by pellets. Only a small section of the finger ring remains, this has then been flattened.
The style of the lettering is consistent with 17th century rings of this type. Posy rings were also used as love tokens, with the inscription remaining secret to all but the wearer.
