An incomplete cast copper alloy pipe tamper of post-medieval date. The hoop of the tamper is ovate in plan and circular in section with a sexfoil "bezel". Opposite the bezel a worn projection extends which is now broken but would have attached the tamper proper to the hoop.
The metal has a light reddish-brown patina and is worn. The tamper is 24.8mm long, 18.2mm wide, 1.5mm thick and weighs 2.6g.
