An incomplete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy mount (c. 1500-c. 1700 AD).
This mount, when complete, would have been an elongated lozenge-shape. At the front it is flat with bevelled edges and the rear face is slightly concave. At the rear there is an integral spike with its tip missing. It is circular in cross-section. The other spike is missing due to a break.
A patina has not survived and it partially covered with light green copper-alloy corrosion products. The breaks are old and there is no trace of any surface treatment.
27.84 x 14.45 x 5.91mm. Weight: 3.37g.
