A copper alloy open topped thimble or sewing ring dating from the Late Medieval to Post Medieval period. It has a thickened rim, straight sides which slope inwards at the top and six rows of punched sub-circular holes. There is an incised line round the top. One of the pits has worn through leaving a hole. There is no maker's mark. The thimble probably dates from 1400 to 1600 AD. Compare LIN-F64E83 and SWYOR-8975C3.
