BURNHAM HOARD 2010 T509: Item A.12 Socketed Axe; South Eastern - undiagnostic fragment

Incomplete cast copper alloy socketed axehead; only the lower body and blade end survive. The socket has been compressed. The sides are concave, flaring out sharply at the cutting edge. The body has a rectangular cross section. Casting seams smoothed. Cutting edge and blade tip damaged.

Length:51.40mm. Weight: 57.17grams. Body across break: 24.42mm by 14.50mm. Cutting edge: 39.07mm
