Roman copper alloy zoomorphic (duck) plate brooch. It is 22.61 mm long, 7.26 mm wide and 8.88 mm thick. The object is in a fair condition and weighs 1.35 grms. It is a plate brooch portraying a swimming duck. The duck is only missing its tail. The body of the duck is formed by the plate which is oval shaped in form; the neck, projecting from the plate, is cylindrical and curves forming a rounded head with a flattened oval shaped beak. The body contains four elongated enamel cells retaining some of the blue enamel. On the reverse side, the semi-circular lug with the remains of a circular hole and part of the catch-plate are present.
