A notched flint blade of later Mesolithic date (4000 -3000 BC). The blade is rectangular in plan and has a crested cross section. The striking platform and bulb of percussion are present on the ventral face. The opposite end has been reworked to form a scraper and one of the long edges has also received some reworking but this is not as regular as that seen at the tip. The opposite long edge has also been reworked with one large notch and two smaller ones. The retouch on the tip is applied in neat regular rows on the dorsal face, whereas the retouch on the side is all applied from the ventral face. It is likely that this is a scraping and cutting tool. He three notches are deliberately formed with neat regular napping being applied from both faces. The flint is a mid grey colour with a milky white coloured patina.
The blade measures 29.5mm in length, 15.3mm width, is 5.1mm thick and weighs 2.16 grams.
