Copper alloy drop-handle, missing both its terminals. Lozenge shape in section with lower front face decorated by a row of dots with a groove and a notched ridge to either side, and a series of transverse grooves at either end. Probably Roman, it is of about the right size to have served as a carrying handle on the neck-guard of a helmet (Robinson 1975, 48 fig.80), but could also be a handle of a box (Lloyd-Morgan 1997, 250 no.59).
