The token is sub circular in plan and uniface. The decorated face depicts a raised five pointed star or petalled flower, making it an example of Powell Type 1. There is a small perforation next to one of the petals. The metal is cream in colour and it weighs 8.3g, measuring 28.27mm in length, 25.44mm in width and 2.29mm in thickness.
Tokens like this were used across the Medieval and Post Medieval periods making them difficult to date precisely. A broad date of 1250-1800 is therefore suggested.2012-05-02 10:14:492012-05-02 16:09:00412012-03-251Certain11212936PAS4FA0FB08001F8992DURLead11094IncompleteGoodMEDIEVALMDx14221p0gjgrsxwzxPOST MEDIEVALPMx41047p0gjgrs6sgxMetal detectorCircaCirca48301213244128161271241431NY5159NY5159NY55NW54.92327-2.76606263453106100379784DUR-0FB088.jpg2Medieval or Post Medieval TokenDurham County Council5images/emorris/North West216Brampton and Longtown Rotary Club Rally 20122012-03-250000-00-00Cultivated landEuropean RegionCountyCumbriaDistrictCarlisleCivil Parish54.8995-2.76007HaytonReturned to finder95429
