An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman Hod Hill type brooch, dating to the 1st century AD. The object is sub-rectangular in cross-section. The incomplete hinged head is rolled over the iron axis bar. The brooch tapers to a rectangular collar before narrowing at the waist. The bow expands slightly before tapering towards two raised horizontal collars. After this the bow tapers towards the foot which is incomplete. The bow is decorated with two raised vertical ridges. The foot is missing and only a small amount of the catch-plate remains on the reverse. The hinge and pin are missing.
