Copper alloy vessel fragment. Robust cast hook with a waisted lug for rotating suspension, which would necessarily engage a slot or socket. Diagonal striations may be file or wear marks and appear on both sides of the hook and along its back edge. Amy Downes kindly corrects an initially imprecise identification with reference to find BH-D62546, suggesting this to be a a vessel handle lug. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1600.
