COIN

Unique ID: HESH-BC60A8

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Silver washed Roman radiate - uncertain emperor - most probably from the later phase (Reece Period 14). This is based on the size of the coin and on the partially surviving bust.

Obverse: small radiate crowned head facing right - possibly Carausius (286-293) or Carus or Carinus (282-285)

[IMP C ] CAR[...]

The reverse is very odd - being based around a central standard (?) / vertical element with palm or corn ear terminal. Through this vertical element is a diagonal cross - again with corn ear terminals. At the central junction is a roundall - with a reverese B within it. To either side are two figures possibly victories facing each other
