A copper-alloy twisted wire one-piece brooch of late Iron Age date. The brooch is incomplete, missing its pin and catchplate and it is therefore a little difficult to determine whether the brooch is of La Tène II or La Tène III style and date. Given the fairly acute angle with which the head emerges from the bow it seems more likely to be La Tène III, thus dating from the second half of the first century BC into the first half of the first century AD (circa 50 BC - AD50). The spring has two coils remaining before the break and the broken part of the spring/pin loops under the top of the bow. The brooch measures 36.86 mm long 10.2 mm wide at the head, 3.69 mm thick at the bow and it weighs 2.7 grams. It is heavily abraded and corroded and has a green/brown colour.
