A copper alloy Post-Medieval coin weight. It was struck in Antwerp, and the reverse bears the hand mark, the symbol for Antwerp. The figures 84 placed around the hand give the date of 1584, and the initials C I with a star indicate the maker Cornelis Janssen. These devices are contained within a circle of laurel . The obverse shows a crown over a double rose indicating that the maker was appointed by the sovereign, with the initials EC to either side. The weight is square, measuring 15.32mm x 15.74mm and is 2mm thick, weighing 3.52g.
