A copper alloy Early Medieval pin with incomplete shaft, the lower part of which is missing due to old breaks. The head is globular and flattened on the top. As the metalwork is very worn, it is not possible to be certain whether the pin head was originally faceted. There is no trace of decoration on the head, and there is a narrow, raised transverse collar at the join of head and shaft. Beneath the collar the shaft is circular in section and 2.0mm in diameter. The object measures 11.35mm in overal length, 8.29mm in width across the head, and weighs 2.49g. A probable date in the middle Anglo-Saxon period, the 8th-9th centuries AD, is suggested.
