An incomplete copper-alloy probably Medieval mount. The mount is broadly U shaped in plan and has a circular cross section with a D shaped cross section at both tips, one is incomplete. The artefact widens towards each tip which terminates in a D shaped projection with a circular perforation, the second tip in incomplete, an old break is visible adjacent to the perforation.
