MOUNT

Unique ID: LANCUM-C28C51

Object type certainty: Probably
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Lead or lead alloy mount, probably fairly modern 1800 to 1900AD, in the shape of a knight on a horse (the knight's head has come off & it looks like something may have come adrift under the horses hooves). It appears to have been mounted using a central stud. It measures 120mm long and 78mm wide. There is a copper alloy mount of similar subject on the PAS, BH-B91E31, but it has been attached at multiple points. It is worth noting that there were Pilgrim badges with a similar subject (possibly George & the Dragon)and made of the similar material (lead or lead alloy). There appears to be remnants of a metallic finish, possibly degraded silver, in places. Further research is required to firmly date & type this object.
