An incomplete wheelspun ceramic vessel rim of post-medieval date: 16th/17th century. The fragment has a wide square sectioned rim and narrow body fragment with a slightly curved profile. The fabric is hard and fine with a few small white, non-calcite, inclusions. It is a buff coloured throughout and is coated in a shiny black glaze on the internal surface.
The rim fragment is 48.5mm long, 32.2mm wide, 13.1mm thick and weighs 21.2g.
