Medieval/Post medieval copper alloy suspension? mount, 34mm long, 17mm wide and 6mm thick. It consists of a rectangular plate which has two copper alloy rivets in each upper corner. The reverse side has a patch of leather and part of a CU sheet still attached. Below this is a single centrally placed circular hole which sits above a rectangular protrusion which has been twisted so its alignment is at ninety degrees to that of the main plate. This may have formed a hook, this and the leather would suggest the object is for suspending something from a strap.
