An incomplete cast copper-alloy hooked tag of Post-Medieval date. It has a flat, circular plate, rectangular suspension loop and integrally cast rear-curving hook. The plate has openwork decoration comprising a central pellet from which radiate five evenly spaced rectangular bars all within an inner circle, giving the impression of a five pointed star. Surrounding this is an openwork border consisting of seven oval shaped motifs each with projecting pellet on the outer edge. At the top of the plate is an integral suspension loop that is rectangular in form and section, and has a central rectangular perforation. Extending from the base of the plate is a moulded double transverse collar beneath which is the incomplete integral hook, which is triangular in section and terminates in old breaks just below the collar. The entire object measures 35.84mm in length, 18.27mm in width, 1.83mm in thickness and 3.69g in weight.
This hooked tag probably belongs in Read's early Post-Medieval Class E type 3 hooked tag group (Read, 2008: no. 383). It is of 16th-17th century AD date.
