An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle frame with integral plate of Medieval date. It is missing the attachment end of the plate and the pin due to old breaks but is otherwise complete. The frame is circular in form with an expanded and flattened rectangular outer edge that is set at an angle of 45 degrees. This has a single transverse groove. At the plate end there are slight projections to either wide of the frame and a central circular aperture through which the now missing pin would have originally hinged. The integral plate is flat, rectangular in form with missing its attachment end due to old breaks. It has incised decoration on the front face comprising grooved borders and an arrow-shaped motif at the centre of the plate running towards the pin hole. Traces of gilding are present on the front face of the plate. It measures 26.37mm in length, 14.42mm in width, 1.49mm in thickness at plate, 5.45mm in height at outer edge of frame, and weighs 2.74g. This is an incomplete buckle frame of Medieval date, c.13th-15th centuries AD if not slightly later.
