A cast copper alloy plate brooch of Roman date (2nd century AD).
The brooch is an incomplete example of an umbonate type. It is circular in plan and domed, with a hollow reverse. The front face is decorated with two rows of triangular cells culminating in a circular cell at the top of the dome. There is traces of the inalid enamel remaining in a few of the cells, blue on the row of cells around the perimeter of the object and red in the row above. One of the side lugs remains as does a quarter of the border. None of the hinged mechanism on the reverse survives. The brooch weighs 3.5g and measures 24.38mm in length and 22.36mm in height.
