A complete cast copper alloy buckle dating to the Medieval and Post Medieval period (1350-1700). The frame is rectangular in plan and in section. One of the shorter edges is curved in shape, whilst the other is straight and decorated with a series of raised triangles. Each of the four corners of the object is decorated with a knop. The spindle is present and spans the width of the object, extending beyond the frame to terminate in a triangular protrusion. At the centre of the spindle is evidence of corosion from where the pin would have been held, this is now missing. The object is in good condition and is green in colour. It weighs 3.1g, measuring 24.26mm, 18.49mm in width and 2.19mm in thickness. A parallel can be found Whitehead, R. (2003) The buckles 1250-1800, Greenlight Publishing: 86. no. 577.
