A fragment of North Devon Gravel-tempered ware. The fragment includes part of the base of a bread platter. The fabric is oxidised on the exterior of the vessel and reduced to its interior. The coarse components include rounded/sub-rounded quartz inclusions (1mm-4mm), sandstone inclusions (up to 4.5mm) and inclusion of tiny (max 1mm) ceramic pellets. The interior of the vessel is glazed, green in colour with the exterior being unglazed.
