A complete Mesolithic discoidal flint blade core (8300-3500 BC). The core has been heavily worked from multiple platforms leaving negative scars where bladelets have been removed. There is one negative cortex inclusion recessed into the distal left hand edge, the core is a retrograde D shape. The dorsal surface in convex with cortex intact at the proximal end there is some evidence of retouch to the right hand side proximally. It is oval in profile. The ventral surface predominantly flat, it contains negative scars demonstrating that bladelets and scrapers have been removed from the core.
The flint is a dark brown with some cream cortex and inclusions.
