A complete cast copper-alloy mini terret, dating to the late Iron Age/early Roman periods. The terret is sub-circular in plan, with a flattened attachment side, and is D-shaped in cross section, with a flat lower surface (Int. W.: 13.3mm, L.: 12.2mm, Th.: 3.3mm). The flattened side which would have taken a strap is narrowed and recessed (L.: 9.6mm). It is flanked by knops or collars at the junction with the hoop. The object has corroded to a light-green colour with a dark-green patina where it survives. Similar examples can be found on this database, refs. NMS-032B00, YORYM-6BDBA4.
