A basesherd of a wheelthrown ceramic vessel.

The sherd is 6.21mm thick and weighs 13.7g. It is 37.63mm long and 43.69mm wide.

The sherd consists of a basesherd, in a fabric is similar to that known as Severn Valley ware. This type of pottery was produced throughout the Roman Period, in the Severn Valley area, and typically consisted of jugs, flagons and tankards. The basesherd is probably from a flagon type vessel.
