A cast copper alloy buckle plate, possibly medieval and possibly of continental origin. The plate has three trailing extensions each of which ends in a circular projection, each pierced to take a rivet (though the central projection is missing and one is broken. The body of the plate is rectangular with four transverse grooves, each of which is filled with punched marks. The lower plate is much shorter and narrower and bears faint engraved lines. An iron bar survives for the frame and this could suggest the frame was iron as well. The one surviving rivet is also iron.
