Roman copper alloy dolphin brooch, 39mm long, 18mm wide and 14mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition and weighs 11.40grams. The brooch consists of open semi- circular sectioned wings which are missing the spring and pin. The wings have a rounded terminal and are decorated with diagonal incised lines. The bow is circular in section and is decorated with a central linear ridge with a rounded profile. This is flanked by narrow incised lines. The base of the bow and catch plate are missing.
