Post Medieval cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle frame and pin. The frame has two oval loops with flat backs and inner sides and angled outer sides. There are two small projecting points, casting flaws, on the inner side of one loop, near the strap bar. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed with pointed knops at either end. The copper alloy pin is D-shaped in section with a flat back. One end is flattened and wrapped around the strap bar. From the loop around the bar it tapers gradually to the point which is bent upwards in profile. The frame is slightly bent in profile and 30.7mm long, 22.2mm wide and 1.9mm thick. The pin is 19.3mm long, 3.6mm wide by the loop and 1.7mm thick. It weighs 3.49 grams in total.
Whitehead (2003) illustrates a similar buckle (page 54, No.307) which he dates to c.1500-1650 AD.
