A fragment of a cast copper alloy vessel of medieval date. The fragment is part of the leg of a probable cooking vessel. The leg is roughly a pointed oval in section with rounded edges and a raised central ridge on the external side. Both ends of the fragment are broken and very worn and the leg is undecorated.
The metal is a dark brownish-black colour and is worn. The fragment is 51.9mm long, 38.4mm wide, 12.3mm thick and weighs 71g.
While it is not possible to allocate this fragment to a specific type a mid 13th to 16th century date is generally accepted for copper alloy cooking vessels.
