A complete cast lead weight of uncertain date. The weight is conical with a wide circular base which tapers to a narrow apex. A central recess is present at the base of the weight though it does not appear to continue through it. There are no marks or decoration present and there are no signs of an attachment loop.
The metal is a light greyish-white colour and is worn. The weight is 47.6mm tall, 19.8mm in diameter at the base and weighs 78g.
Plain weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards for a wide variety of uses and are hard to date precisely. Therefore, due to a lack of contextual evidence and any diagnostic features it is not possible to date this object any more closely.
