Copper alloy and iron stud or furniture mount. Cast hemispherical or 'bell shaped' mount with stub of an iron shank. The foot - that part closest to the point of fixing - is constricted; the top is indented with a central dimpled knop and bears black paint or colourant in the sunken gutter between rim and knop. Suggested date: Roman, 43-410.
