A complete cast copper alloy apothecaries weight of post-medieval date. The weight is square in plan and rectangular in section and is stamped on one side with the traditional symbol for the denomination 2 drachms.
The metal has a dark greenish-brown patina and is worn. The weight is 15.8mm x 14.8mm x 4.5mm and weighs 6.8g.
Similar apothecaries weights can be seen in Biggs, p.9 and date to the 17th century.
