A contemporary copy of a Roman denarius coin, probably silver plated, of Domitian, AD81-96. This coin is copying a coin minted in Rome, post AD91, Reece period uncertain. Reverse legend reads IMP [...] COS XI CENS POT PP. Reverse shows Minerva advancing right with spear and shield. See RIC II (2nd ed.), p.318, p.283, c.f.256.
Obverse shows laureate bust right. Obverse legend reads IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM PM TR P XI. Condition is fine, die axis is 6 o'clock, weight is 3.07g, diameter is 19.01mm.
