A complete, Medieval-Post Medieval, crudely cast, copper alloy, 'mystery' or 'annular' ring. It is a fair size, slightly irregular, annular ring of variable thickness with a flatterned sexfoil cross-section. There are bevelled, inside and outside unfettled edges and feint hand file finishing marks. The ring has some wear, mainly dark brown matt surfaces but some pale green areas of corrosion possibly due to being found in water logged ground conditions. Ref. History Beneath Our Feet, Gordon Bailey, Anglia Publishing Ipswich 1995, page 69 no. 390-393 and Finds Identified, Gordon Bailey, Greenlight Publishing 2000, page 54-55 fig. 4. The ring is 27.08mm long, 26.23mm wide, 1.92mm thick, diameter 27.08mm and weighs 2.5g.
