A broken cast copper-alloy foot and part of the leg from a late medieval to post-medieval tripod skillet or cauldron. Given the size and chunkiness of the leg, probably the latter. The leg is lonzenge shaped in section with a central ridge which runs down the leg to the foot. The leg is flat on the reverse and on the base of the foot. The leg projects from the flat base of the foot at an angle of approximately 75 degrees. The incomplete leg is in fair condition and has an abraded green/brown patina with traces of a black coating (lacquer), probably the decayed result of applying hot linseed oil to the surface, intended to give a warm, reddish-gold or brown colour to the metal. It measures 40.39 mm high, 50.97 mm wide, 20.54 mm thick and weighs 122.2 grams.
