A complete, Medieval-Post Medieval, crudely cast, copper alloy, 'mystery' or 'annular' ring. The ring is a fair size, slightly irregular with a slightly flatterned, sexfoil cross section which has now rounded but once bevelled inside and outside unfettled edges. This ring is worn and there are patches of a light/dark green matt surface with one or two smaller pale brown areas probably due to being found in water logged ground conditions. This ring is likely to date to 1200-1799. Ref. History Beneath Our Feet, Brian Read, Anglia Publishing Ipswich 1995, page 69 no. 392 and Finds Identified, Gordon Bailey, Greenlight Publishing 2000, page 54-55 fig. 4. The ring is 25.43mm long, 25.01mm wide, 1.21mm thick, diameter 25.43mm and weighs 1.7g.
