A cast copper-alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The buckle is double looped with moulded ribbed decoration on the upper side of the frame. The reverse of the flame is flat and undecorated. The strap bar divides the two loops of the buckle and there are moulded knops at either end of the strap bar. The strap bar has traces of ferrous corrosion on it from the iron pin which was found with the buckle frame but is broken and unattached. The pin measures 32.06 mm long, 6.59 mm wide, 5.37 mm thick and weighs 1.6 grams. The frame measures 50.15 mm long, 42.44 mm wide, 3.64 mm thick and weighs 17 grams. The surface has been treated with a black lacquer which has worn away in many places leaving a green patina.
