A complete Post-Medieval cast copper alloy (brass) thimble with sloping sides and a domed top, dating to about 1650-1850. The top of the thimble has cross-hatched decoration, a waffle pattern, rather than circular pits. The main body of the thimble is decorated with circular pits and has an undecorated band above a rolled rim. The thimble is in good condition but there is no original patina surviving. Thimbles with a similar pattern may be found on the database at PAS record IDs: SWYOR-632EF5, SWYOR-634C03 and SUSS-27AB44.
