Incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester brooch, with the head, partial spring and partial bow surviving. The spring would have originally had eight turns, but only four survive. The axis bar runs through a single projection on the reverse of the headplate. The bow is plain and undecorated, tapering in thickness towards the break. The fragment is approximately 19mm long, 27mm wide and 13mm thick.
