Description: A complete 16th or 17th century gold finger ring. The ring is cast so that the hoop is formed from sixteen domes or hemispheres, i.e. it has a semicircular section. One dome is elongated and probably acted as the bezel. The inner surface of the hoop is inscribed with the legend " * ALWAYES ONE >>>".
Discussion: The ring can be compared to ESS-EDA7E6 (Treasure case 2004 T353: dated 16th - 17th century) which is of similar design, but with a different legend.
For inscription comparison see Treasure case 2011 T837, PAS ID: WILT-8FB813.
Dimensions: Thickness: 4.43 mm
Weight: 5.76 g
Diameter: 19.9 mm
As the ring is more than 300 years old and is made of precious metal, it meets the requirements of the 1996 Treasure Act.
