Copper alloy probable tool valve fragment. Cast ring with cross-hatched surface, probably to afford grip. Distorted, probably by intense heat. The surface finish recalls that of bicycle valves and adjustable tools, whereby manual adjustment is facilitated by a textured surface. Suggested date: Modern, 1850-1950.
