Five Roman ceramic vessel sherds, all greyware rims.
1) Rounded flange and straight rim with a diameter of about 110mm. The fabric is soft, hackly and reduced to a mid grey colour throughout. There are frequent well sorted small quartz, grit and occasional black iron ore inclusions. 90.23mm long, 42.33mm wide, 24.09mm wide. 74.38g.
2) Rim and side wall and part of the base from a shallow dish like vessel. The rim is rounded and has a diameter of about 180mm. The base has a diameter of about 170mm. The vessel is only 26mm tall. The fabric is hard, fine and reduced. It has frequent quartz and grit inclusions. 61.4mm long, 26mm wide, 10.17mm thick. 24.27g.
3) Out-turned and thickened everted rim, oval in section, from a large vessel of about 300mm rim diameter. The fabric is hard and hackly, with a gritty feel. It is reduced throughout. There are frequent small quartz and grit inclusions. 49.73mm long, 40.5mm wide and18.4mm thick. 43.62g.
4) Out-turned and rounded rim of about 130mm diameter. The fabric is hard, fine, reduced but with a lighter core and has frequent fairly well sorted quartz and grit inclusions. 45.72mm long, 33.1mm wide and 6.6mm thick. 14.51g.
5) Out-turned rim of about 100mm diameter. Fairly hard, fine, reduced fabric with quartz and grit inclusions. 43.84mm long, 25.63mm wide, 6.66mm thick. 13.24g.
