Lead with black paint, oil or lacquer

Possible Weight, as identified by the finder. Cast rectangular object with flat sides, one edge bears a small curved notch, and an adjacent edge is slightly concave. The object appears complete from the extent of black paint or lacquer traces over all surfaces. Either this coating, or a very recent date, has left the material unpatinated. The mass does not appear to correlate with recent systems of measurement, introducing doubt as to its identification. An alternative purpose as a game piece might be entertained. Suggested date: Post-Medieval to Modern, 1700-1950.

Length: 17.9mm, Width:17.1mm, Thickness: 5.8mm, Weight: 17.10gms.
