An incomplete Roman late first to second century bow brooch of Trumpet headed type. The bow has the hollow oval trumpet shaped head that is characteristic of this type of brooch. The corroded remains of the iron hinged pin are visible in the hollow of the reverse of the head of the brooch. A separately cast loop is missing, although recesses for its attachment are visible on each side of the head. Below the head there is a moulded disc which runs around the bow. the lower part of the bow which would have incorporated the catchplate is missing. The brooch measures 27.3 mm long, 9.08 mm wide, 14.47 mm thick and weighs 5.1 grams. The brooch has a predominantly green patina.
