Medieval or post-medieval plain cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle frame. The frame has two oval loops each with bevelled outer sides and inner sides and transverse grooves across the centre of the outer edge forming pin rests. The strap bar is narrowed with a triangular cross-section.
It is likely that simple forms like this were in use by c.1350 (Egan and Pritchard 1993:22, 82-3, cf no.332), and they continued into the 17th century.
