A short curved flake of translucent brown and grey flint, struck from the cortex of a nodule using a hard hammer. The left margin is straight and cortically backed.the right is semi-abruptly worked to a point and worn with a notch; also utilised. this tool may have combined the functions of piercer and notch for work with skins and sinews.Mercer(1981) illustrates a piercer on page 137, fig 60, L159.
