A cast, lead-alloy, probable pilgrim badge of Medieval to Post-Medieval date. The object consists of a vertical, sub-triangular section joined, at its lower and wider edge, to an integrally-cast, openwork circle. Only half of the circle remains, the remainder having been broken off and lost. The vertical section continues through the centre of the circle and has a moulded human figure, in relief, on it's front face. The figure appears to be of a robed man or woman with hands clasped in front of them. This could, possibly, represent a monk or nun at prayer or, possibly, a saint.
The reverse of the object has a single, cast protrusion, but there is evidence that there was more of it, now broken away and lost. This may have been the attachment point for the badge, either a pin or a loop for stitching.
