Pottery body sherd made of gabbroic clay that weathers over the gabbro outcrop on the Lizard in Cornwall. The exterior of the sherd has eroded away so that only a small surface area remains and the interior of the sherd has a few small depressions where inclusions have eroded away from the matrix. The fabric has fine inclusions of pale felspars, dark augite and mica and is orange on the exterior and mid-brown on the interior of the sherd. This type of fabric is seen in Grooved Ware vessels, dating from c.2900-2400 BC (Henrietta Quinnell, forthcoming).
